A Beaming Bob Buster and Marilyn Jones Buster
Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage
on March 15, 2008.......

Buz Sez:
Marilyn and I met at MAD. She was a Freshman ('56)
and I was a Junior ('54).  We went steady until I
graduated at which time I entered the
University of Redlands.

In my senior year at the U of R, I was on my way to
Berkeley to a football game between Cal and Stanford.
I heard Marilyn was attending San Jose State.

I stopped by and looked her up. I was waiting for her
outside the classroom. When she  came out my heart
skipped several beats.

She wondered what the hell I was doing up there.
We went for coffee and the rest is history.

We got married a year later. We have loved each
other ever since by keeping a sense of humor, respecting
each other and enjoying each new day together.

Jim and wife Sharon visited me here in Montana last summer and had some real

* * * from Jim's wife, Sharon...
Jim passed away on Monday, March 10.  I wanted you all to know, but at this time I am not up to personal phone calls so I decided to use email as an alternative. I do apologize. It's not a very comforting way to receive news that someone you care about has passed on and I'm hoping you understand. During the past 2 weeks his liver began rapidly failing.  We called in hospice a week ago and all of the children were able to come and be with him.  Quite an undertaking when there are 7 of them from California to PA.  They have all been so supportive.  I am blessed.
At last he is free of pain and at peace.  Respecting his wishes, there will be no service or viewing.  He wished to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in Pioche and in Morro Bay. We will do that at a later date when the family can come together again.
Please know I am doing well. I do apologize for not being able to call each of you.  Please know I love you all and thank you for your friendship and love.

Hugs to all!
Sharon

Donna,
I can, sadly, add a name to the deceased list for your '56 page. Harold ¡Nick¢ Bateman passed on after
several serious illnesses. I don¢t have a date for his passing, but it was a couple of years ago.

Hi Donna,
I certainly know who you are and often read your '56-'57 web page when I read our '54 page.  I kid my wife
"no such luck that she went to MAD or MD High School!"  Her name is Virginia, she went to Alhambra
High School, Class of '54, and we met at Occidental College.  The rivalry betweeen Monrovia and Alhambra
has been a fun source of teasing in our 48 years of  marriage.
Keep up the nice work on your web page.        Bob

Hughlene Ross
Hughlene "Hughie" Ross, 67, of Desert Hot Springs
and formerly a 30-year resident of Palm Springs
died Dec. 21, 2005, in Desert Hot Springs.
She was born Nov. 1. 1938, to Hugh Foreman
and Alvena Bortz in Guyman, Okla.
She married Thomas Ross on Jan. 16, 1962, in Honolulu.
She is survived by two sons, Jason Talbott Ross
and Clayton Todd Ross of Desert Hot Springs;
a sister, Carrie Foreman of Yucca Valley;
and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Elliott Ross.
A memorial service will be at noon Jan. 7 at
Miracle Springs Resort & Spa in Desert Hot Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of
Rose Mortuary of Desert Hot Springs.
The family suggests that donations be made to the
Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society
and Desert AIDS Project.
  Donna,
I was one of Hughlene (Forman) Ross' caretakers during 2002/03. Hughlene had
become a personal friend during that time. My husband and I would frequently visit
her, and talk about our families and life in general. Unfortunately I left my employer,
and lost track of Hughie once she sold her home.
I was surprised, but not shocked, that Hughie had passed, when I heard, quite by
accident, about her death this past week. On our last visit, she told my husband
and myself she knew she would not live much longer. Hughie put up a valiant and
brave struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis in her later years. Even though she was
confined to a wheel chair, her spirit and sense of adventure never wavered. She loved
our local Ren Faire, Date Festival, and the casino's, and even though wheel chair
bound, she managed to frequent the places that brought joy to her life.

Hughie was a gentle soul, but when riled, look out. Her words could spar with the
best of them! Hughie delighted in giving. At Christmas she made sure that everyone
had a gift to open, myself included. Those gifts came from her heart. I will forever
hold Hughie dear in my heart and spirit, and one day we will meet again in heaven.

Until then, sleep well, and out of pain dear soul.

    Terri Fields
Hi Donna,  I just got news yesterday morning, that Terrie Fields has died.  She died the later part
of Nov.  She had been ill for sometime.  I always had been in contact with her by e-mail but not
lately.  I am shocked that she was so ill with a brain tumor and other things.  I think she graduated
in 1956.  I will miss her terribly.  Anyway just thought I would let you know.
